What these terms cover
This website is published by Ernest E. Onuiri in Nigeria, trading as GICIP International Frontier Services. Using it means accepting what follows. If you do not accept it, the answer is simply not to use the site.
These terms cover the website. They are not the agreement under which somebody takes part in a cohort: that is a separate document, it is signed when a place is offered, and nothing on this site replaces it.
Payments, cancellation and refunds have a page of their own, so that anybody weighing an application can see the position before they commit rather than after. It describes the same arrangements in plain words; where it and the signed agreement differ, the agreement is the one that counts.
What happens to information you give us is not in these terms either. That is the privacy notice, which is linked in the footer of every page, and it is the document to read if what you want to know is who sees your application.
This site and the platform
This site is where the programme explains itself, and the apply host is where an applicant starts an application. GICIP OS is the separate system used to manage a trip, the people on it and what happens while they are away.
GICIP OS is GICIP's own and the same people are behind it, but it has its own terms and you agree to those when the application flow presents them. Nothing on this page is a promise that an application will be accepted or that a place will be offered.
Applying is not a place
Signing up starts a conversation and nothing more. It does not reserve a place, it does not commit either of us to anything, and it is not an offer we have accepted. Places are limited, selection is at the programme's discretion, and we are not obliged to explain a decision.
Tell us the truth on the form. An application built on something that is not accurate can be withdrawn at any stage, including after a place has been offered.
What is written here
The destinations, host organisations and outcomes described on this site are a record of what past cohorts did. They are not a promise about a future one. Each cohort's itinerary is set for that cohort, host organisations decide for themselves whether and when to receive a group, and visas are granted by governments rather than by us.
We keep this site accurate and up to date as far as we reasonably can, and we do not guarantee that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it.
Using this site
Read it, share it, apply through it. What you may not do:
- Use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that damages it or interferes with anyone else's use of it.
- Submit an application in somebody else's name, or an address you do not control.
- Collect information from it by automated means for resale, or copy it wholesale to present as your own.
- Present yourself as GICIP, or as speaking for it.
Our words and pictures
The text, photographs, logo and design of this site belong to Ernest E. Onuiri or to the people who licensed them to us. You may quote or link to a page with attribution, which we welcome. Republishing a page, or using the photographs of our participants elsewhere, needs our permission first.
Other organisations' names and marks
This site names organisations that have received a GICIP cohort, and shows their logos where we hold them. Every one of those names and marks belongs to the organisation it identifies, and they appear here only to describe truthfully where participants have been.
None of those organisations sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with GICIP, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise. If you are one of them and would rather your mark did not appear, write to us and we will take it down.
Links to other sites
Where we link somewhere else, we are pointing at it rather than vouching for it. What happens on another organisation's website is governed by that organisation's terms and its own privacy notice.
Where our responsibility ends
This website is provided as it is. We are not liable for a decision you take purely on the strength of something you read here, for the site being unavailable, or for loss caused by somebody else's service that you reached through it.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Keeping the site up
We do not promise this site will always be available. It is a brochure for a programme that runs once a year, not a service anybody depends on hour to hour, and it may be taken down for maintenance, changed, or withdrawn.
The one thing we will not do quietly is break a page somebody has been given a link to. Where a page moves, the old address redirects to the new one.
If part of this does not hold
If a court decides that something in these terms cannot be enforced, that part is treated as though it were not here and the rest of the terms continue to apply. The document does not fall over because one sentence in it does.
And if we do not enforce something straight away, or at all, that is not us giving up the right to enforce it later.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Asking about these terms
Write to Ernest E. Onuiri at the programme office. The address is in the bar at the top of every page and in the footer, and a question about these terms reaches the same people as any other.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, and the date at the top of the page changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after that means accepting the version then published. An application already sent is judged by the terms in force when you sent it.
